First National Green Certified Preschool Garden Montessori has demonstrated a high level of commitment to environmentally friendly practices. Becoming more energy efficient, replacing paper-based communications, switching to non-toxic cleaning practices, and implementing both recycling and composting programs are just a few of the changes made by the Garden Montessori School.
Co-owner Stefani Ruskin says, “Our primary motivation for going green was to provide the children with a healthy environment. Our goal is to make the children more aware of living responsibly. We hope that by teaching the students about conservation and recycling, we will help them think about how they impact the planet. We want to teach our students to become responsible citizens through our example.”
