Wiregrass Ranch High School is Pasco County's newest high school opening it's doors to students in August of 2006 at Thomas E. Weightman Middle School in Wesley Chapel.
The Wiregrass Ranch High School facility is under construction and will open to students in January 2007. WRHS will offer students a superb academic program including honors, advanced placement, and college preparatory classes. The school will provide excellence across the entire curriculum including elective and vocational classes. Students will be able to participate in a full range of extra and co-curricular activities such as band, athletics, clubs and social activities. WRHS will provide varsity athletic programs for interested students in all sports except Football for the first year.
Wiregrass Ranch High School is located on 61 acres adjacent to Dr. John Long Middle School in the Meadow Pointe Community of Wesley Chapel off of Bruce B. Downs Blvd. and SR 56. The school is built to facilitate the Learning Community concept which provides a smaller " school within a school" setting for students. The school will be built with a capacity of 1811 student stations. The 2006-07 opening enrollment is projected at 850 students in 9th and 10th grade only. The school includes the newest construction design, technology, equipment and athletic facilities.
